Every 2 weeks I have these meetings with about 20 other entrepreneurs for the Summer Company Program. Last week we were talking about bottlenecks that we were facing, and I noticed a reoccurring obstacle.
The obstacle was: most of my entrepreneur friends have websites, but for some reason NO ONE visits it! This is a very common problem that all businesses have probably faced! Businesses spend lots of money on making a website, but often times no one actually sees their website. This is probably an important bottleneck to overcome because in order to sell a product or service, people have to know your company even exists!
This is why I decided to write this article to help all entrepreneurs to increase website visitors. I will be showing you 4 ways to increase website visitors so that you can let your potential customers know that yes, you actually are running a business.
1. Consistent and Engaging Social Media Presence:
I don’t know about you, but when I started my Facebook page there were times when I was super active posting every week, and there were other times when I didn’t post anything for months. (BTW don’t follow this example^^) The reason this is bad is because people tend to forget about your existence, and your business.
Although at times it can be difficult, one of the most important tips for social media marketing is to be consistent! BUT this doesn’t mean you should post 5 times a day for the rest of your life). Being consistent means committing to a realistic goal and following through. So if you decide you only have the time to post one Facebook post per week, that’s totally fine! You just have to make sure you stick to your goals and objectives.
2. Posting Relevant and Valuable Content
So lets say you decide to only make 2 Facebook posts every week. This doesn’t mean you can post a poorly written blog article, and hope that it gets followers.
You have to make sure that your content is both RELEVANT, and VALUABLE to you specific target market. Every business has a specific target market (or profile of your potential customers). They all have similar likes, dislikes, and most importantly problems! If you are able to provide solutions to the problems your target market has, then they will read your articles, visit your website, and hopefully buy or use your products/services!
3. Answering Yahoo or Quora Questions
When you search a topic or question on Google, people only look at the top 20 search results. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to get your website to appear on the searches. You need to spend months improving your system engine optimization (SEO).
However, a short cut that a lot of digital marketers are using now are using the power of Yahoo and Quora questions and answers. When you search a question in Google often times you will see “Yahoo Answers” or “Quora Questions.” This means that these questions get A LOT OF TRAFFIC and internet users.
If you provide a helpful answer to a question, your answer will appear at the TOP of the question link. Then if you have a LINK to your website at the end of your answer, internet ussers will eventually be directed to your website.
For an example you are a photography business. You want to answer Yahoo and Quora questions that you are knowledgable in, and where you can be perceive as an EXPERT. Some questions might be: “What camera should I buy to produce professional photos?” “Where are the top locations in Toronto to take profile pictures?” ETC.
If you do enough Questions and Answers you will start to get a steady flow of visitors on to your website!
4. Email Marketing and Optin Forms
After spending hours blogging, and being active on social media lets say you FINALLY get 20 people to visit your website. However, in most cases these visitors will leave your website after a few seconds and never return. This is not ideal because you would want them to continuously visit your website.
To prevent this from happening you want to encourage them to subscribe to your email list so you can send them notifications to when you post new content. This will remind your visitors about how relevant, and valuable your content and business it to them. This can be done by using something called an Optin Form. It is a form that encourages visitors to sign up to your blog post through their email.
(To increase the success rate of your optin form, you can use a LEAD MAGNET).
If you follow these 4 simple concepts, you will definitely see an increase website visitors. I hope that I gave you some ideas to over come your website bottlenecks! Let me know if this article was helpful in the comments below.
